Consumer Cancellation Notice
How qualifying consumers can cancel the initial Lite News subscription during the 14-day cancellation period.
Version 2.1 · Last updated 16 August 2026.
Cancellation at at glance
If you buy wholly or mainly outside your trade, business, craft, or profession, you may cancel the initial subscription during the 14 days beginning on the day after checkout and receive a full refund.
When the refund is processed, feed access and the licence end. You must stop publishing the content and remove any Lite News articles published under the refunded subscription.
Who can use this right?
This page applies when you contract as a consumer: an individual acting wholly or mainly outside your trade, business, craft, or profession. The product is designed primarily for business and professional publishing use, but checkout is also open to consumers.
How and when to cancel
Tell us clearly that you want to cancel before the 14-day period expires. The period begins on the day after checkout. Use our consumer cancellation form to tell us clearly that you want to cancel under your 14-day consumer cancellation right. You may also give us any other clear cancellation notice through a contact method we make available.
This statutory 14-day cancellation period applies when you first subscribe. It does not restart with each monthly renewal. You may still cancel the subscription at any time through the Customer portal to prevent future renewals.
We will refund the amount paid for the initial subscription within 14 days after receiving your notice, using the original payment method unless we agree otherwise. We will not deduct an amount for service supplied during the cancellation period.
What happens after a consumer refund?
Feed access and the licence end when the cancellation is processed. You must stop accessing the feeds, stop publishing Licensed Content, and remove any Lite News articles already published under the refunded subscription.
This is separate from ordinary monthly cancellation, which normally takes effect at the end of the paid billing period. Articles lawfully published under a subscription that is not refunded may remain online subject to the Standard Licence. Mandatory rights under the law that applies to you are not affected.
